Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We have missed being able to offer you the treatments that we know you love, and we are looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible and prior to re-opening the salon we have implemented a number of changes which we would like to make you aware of. During the time the salon has been shut, we have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. We have since made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit.

Booking Appointments
If any of our staff feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, they will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This may mean that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.

Appointments can be made over the phone, email, or via our social media channels. If we cannot answer the phone please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we are able. We may be receiving many calls and operating with fewer staff, so please bear with us.

Visiting the Salon
For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we are trying to implement a no waiting policy, so we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving. You may be asked to wait outside until your appointment time. We are allowing time in between appointments in order to avoid clients overlapping.

We will conduct a temperature check as you arrive at the salon. You will have access to hand washing facilities or hand santitiser as soon as you enter the salon and we kindly ask that you come wearing your own mask if possible. If you don’t have a mask, one can be provided for you at a small charge of £1 (as PPE is limited we would appreciate it if you can bring your own).

Please attend your appointment alone and bring as few personal belongings as possible. We won’t be serving refreshments, so please bring a personal drink if you wish. We politely ask that you do not use your phone during your appointment (particularly whilst having nail treatments), as your hands need to remain sanitised.

We are also going paperless and will be implementing a new digital consultation form system. Over the coming weeks we will be updating them for all clients. They will be kept safe and secure on a cloud based account and will hep us maintain seamless accurate records.

Salon Hygiene
We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.

Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally, friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

Please don’t be surprised or upset if we use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves / facemasks / aprons where appropriate.

We can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority and we assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C.

All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area each day.

Our treatments

We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely. Following government guidance, we will not be conducting any treatments on the face initially.

We now have to dispose of non metal tools used during nail treatments and as you can appreciate, this is very wasteful and expensive to sustain. Rather than increase our treatment prices moving forward, we have produced a nail kit containing a nail file, buffer and cuticle stick. If you are booked in for any nail service, you will be required to purchase a nail kit for £4 and this will be yours to keep and bring along with you on all future appointments.

During your treatment
We understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment, as well as wearing gloves where appropriate.

We will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We want you to relax and enjoy your visit, despite the changes we have had to implement! If you have any concerns about your treatments please let us know and we will do what we can to satisfy you.

After the treatment
In order to avoid handling of cashwe would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card, or in advance using bank transfer.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our staff. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
